Buffalo trace #1. Got 3 bottles on the shelf. One for tonight. After that they're all about the same.

Gentleman Jack, Makers and Woodford are a couple of my go to's. but I'm not overly picky.

Makers is good no doubt, but to me it's not quite as good as its reputation and price suggest.
My normal go-to bourbon is Old Forester. If I want something a notch above I go with Bulleit.

Hard to beat Bulleit for an everyday table bourbon.

Some whiskys and whiskeys like just a small splash of water to open them up a little, while water might just ruin another. Different spirits also like different temperatures. Sometimes, drinking a certain spirit ice cold will deaden your taste buds and you can't appreciate the complexities. Same with ales and beers. Room temp for some and chilled a little for others.

I'm normally just your average beer guy but lately I've developed a strong taste for bourbon. Give me a few suggestions on something new to try. Preferably something with a middle of the road price. Assume you mean above the basic wild turkey or Jim beam though their higher offerings aren't bad. Can't go wrong with Woodford Reserve bourbon. Over ice let it meld for a few minutes. Tasty stuff. My favorite bourbon. They make a good rye whiskey too. Maker's Mark is very good too. Elijah Craig is good especially the 18 year old if they still make it. Bookers as well. There are a lot of small batch that are good but can be expensive. All have different tastes and are good.

He was asking about bourbon. I love me some George Dickel, it's my favorite, but it's sour mash not bourbon

The guy in the liquor store tried to talk me into some bird dog. Any reviews on it?
