I don't know Deadeye, we fishermen spend a lot of time and money trying to perfect fishing tackle. Some ancient tackle peddler might have made a fortune trading plummet stone weights. Kinda like all these tungsten weights we buy. Haha. I know skintback would have bought them instead of some plain old rock to weight his net or line.
