David that's priceless ! I got in hot water once for helping another member get his new bow sighted in at our hunting club camp. There was a big sign that said "NO FIREARMS FIRED ON THIS PROPERTY" It seems the president considered a bow a firearm. He got furious when I ask him to show me some fire on a bow. So you can't use a bow or a gun at that club? It's the most awesome club ever! The whole place is one big sanctuary and I hear that they are growing some real giants there !

Does Lowndes County have a new warden? From what I understand, yes. I heard that Chris the warden from years past has taken a biologist position with University of Auburn. Do not quote me on that though.

Most are very nice guys and only doing their job. Glad you had a productive meeting ! This, don't know why so many honest people are afraid or dislike wardens. They have prolly one of the tougher jobs in LEO imo Because there are a few jerks among the good ones, just like in anything. I've had positive experiences myself, but I know of 2 cases with different wardens that resulted in very questionable tickets. For example, one involved a 16 year old that parked on the right of way and was headed into the woods with his gun when a warden happened to drive by. He gave the kid a ticket for "hunting" along the right of way because his gun had rounds in the magazine. His dad had to pay over $1000. He said it was fine to have a loaded gun in the vehicle but as soon as he stepped out of the vehicle with it, he was "hunting" on the right of way. This happened in the middle of no where. Flame the kid or father if you want, but he was not hunting on a right of way. If that is the case, was I hunting in Walmart the other day?

I know that there are some good ones out there, and I hope the ones I encountered were just having a bad day, but I've encountered 2 wardens in different counties, and both were unpleasant experiences.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Walking across your property during hunting season definetly don't going help your hunting. They should just fly over and see what they need to know. Call them on your neighbor just to piss him off too. Then he can see the game can be played two ways. Tell them to come on over and visit anytime, but make sure somebody not just tooting their horn reporting stuff that's not there. Explain to them to make sure they understand you got a lot of time and work in this hunting sport for you and your family. You would appreciate their being legitimate business for someone to just be running around on it during hunting season.

So did Cleburne Co. ever get a Warden? I got outlaws all around me. Busted one already this season picking up along the road. They do the stop and drop. Then I got another crew that cuts my fence and drive a 4-wheeler through till I find the hole and fix it then they cut another.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

JBUC, excuse me for not being clear. The camp was on a small piece of separate property. The president was an idiot from Tuscaloosa. He owned a pest company. He got mad when he found out I was hanging stands in he woods. He told me when you kill a deer in the woods you are cutting off a member hunting the closest food plot ! To make it in that club you had to kiss his butt. I didn't last. I wanted to hunt deer not worship some old fool. Bill was his name. He also got mad because I went up before the season opened and stayed in the camphouse. I sleep in a bunk assigned to another member. i didn't think it mattered since I was the only one there. WRONG !

Does anyone know if Cleburne County ever got a new Warden... I know the last one retired. He was a good one.
Those hills will send one into early retiremnt, especially around Cheaha Mountain!

The secret to a long marriage is to keep on dating, just as you did before marriage. We have "date night" once a week. Hers is Saturday, mine is Thursday.
The only time a married woman gives those is if your not married to them!
