I viewed several deer cam photos blurred by raindrops hitting or splattering on the flash and cam lens during the past 3 nights.

I found a black plastic plant flat, approx. 24" x 14"...that young vegetable/flower plants are sold in. It's the shallow type flat sold at feed and nursery stores. I cut the front (longest) side off, left on the ends and rear side, centered my trail cam to the back edge...and taped it securely with utility tape. I bungee-corded the top covered cam to the tree.

It worked well in last night's rain.

1) All photos were clear of raindrops, and the cam was dry.
2) The flash was a little suppressed at the top of it's arc; but not enough to worry about or to cause problems.
3) The deer seemed to look directly at the flash a bit more, but didn't spook and run. (cam setting was 1 min. apart---and the same doe stood there for 5 photos)
4) The long length of the flat sagged a bit in it's center, so I cut a little hole near the leading edge of the flat and tied it back, securely, to the rear side. (shorter flats might work better)

I'll guess there are products like this available on the market...but I needed something now. (cracker ingenuity) Skull, you've got to build one.

Did the coffee can method work well, Cam ? That' a cool idea.
