Just pulled the trigger on a treewalker. After hunting out of my ol man for the last 17 years I finally bought a new climber. It better be a good one for the price payed for it.
It's not how many days you hunt, it's how you hunt each day, that determines the success.

i used an ol man like you forever. yo(u will have to get used to climing it without straps and it having spikes. it is a very nice stand. in mine now a matter of fact

Bought one myself this year. Got the promag xl. I've hunted out of summits, ole man, timbertalls etc and it's the best all around stand I've ever set in. Shot a doe my first set in it and very pleased
. Do yourself a favor and get stabilizer straps from 3rd hand archery if you bow hunt. With those straps you can literally lean all over the stand and it will not move.
Only negative I found is it's a pain in the ass to climb up and down a tree with bc you gotta hook your boots underneath the sides and pull up. I've added another strap to go around the bottom (summit type ratchet strap) and I can haul ass now.

I bought one last year after hunting season. Been climbing a tree behind my house to get used to it. Broke it in today and I'll say this....it does take some getting used to climbing wise but it is the most comfortable stand I have ever sat in. I sat 6 hours this morning and 5 hours this evening and not 1 time did my legs, ass of back go numb or hurt at all.

And the straps mentioned above.... definitely get those no matter what brand climber you have.

U won't be disappointed!!!! What amazes me is how the bottom feels so light when u climbing!! It being long helps it stabilize better or something!!

You can attach the plastic summit rapid climb stirrups to the sides of the base/bottom half, 17 dollars, huge upgrade.

If it looks like an ol'man Goober, get your glasses adjusted. No Treewalker will slip like many here have had an ol'man do. The only thing similar is the netting seat.Use one, you will see quickly it is the best stand on the market. Overpriced ???? Whats your safety worth ?

C I don't know how to post pics but I use the summit treestand utility straps (think cabelas still sells them for 19.99) and just go all around the bottom of my stand. i cinch my feet into these while climbing. To me it works better than the rapid climb stirrups but just a matter of opinion. I can then use the same strap to cinch my backpack to on the way out of the woods.

doesn't that prevent the top and bottom from nesting together though? unless you install / uninstall each time?

The strap I use I uninstall each time then i simply wrap it around the entire apparatus and cinch it tight to prevent anything from banging together and making noise while walking in and out.
