It is an Evinrude and the boat is a '78. Thanks for the opinions. I'm going to wait until I find what I'm looking for. If anyone knows of 14-16 john boat with at least a 9.9, please let me know
Sounds like a wise decision. Most of the time when you purchase a boat that old, you're buying someone elses problems. The john boat you mentioned sounds like a good idea for the type fishing you talked about. The buy-sell-bulliten or craigslist usually have plenty of them in that price range. If I were going to fish the Tenn, I'de make sure it is a deep & wide boat that would handle the wake from other boats.
