I have some filson pants that you wouldn't want to wear unless it was less than 30 degrees. Very toasty, but it is itchy wool. You need at least a thin layer of something against your skin.

Vests, tin cloth chaps, other pieces of gear. You get what you pay for. The waxed tin cloth is hot.

Whatever Filson makes is usually about the best there is. They're slogan, "Might as well have the best," rings pretty true of their quality. A lot of their clothing is probably a little heavy for most people to get a lot of wear around here except for the coldest months. But to answer your question, yes. Filson is plenty count.

I have a rain suit and a field jacket.
Had them for 10 years. Looks like my kids can wear them when I die.
Good stuff.

I have a bunch. It's all built to pass down to your kids. Worth the price to me. My favorite is my field jacket, but the boots are a close second.

yes. you sign up for email alerts so you can watch for the winter, and sometimes summer, sales to get some great deals on coats and pants (75% off). oiled double tin is the toughest followed by single tin and cover cloth (old school m.a.s.h. type army tent material). as stated earlier, it is "pass down" class of garments.

Have some Filson pants. Briars won't matter wearing them. They are hot in Alabama but we're just right in Montana

I've got a Filson Wool Jacket. I very rarely wear it but Filson made stuff is hard to beat. Got the Filson Double Leather Belt 1 1/2 inch that will last me for decades. Worth the cost IMO.

I've got a jacket, pants, a hat, and four different bags they make. As someone earlier mentioned my son will be wearing/using all the pieces when I'm long gone should he choose to do so.

I've got a tin cloth field jacket with the vest liner. I love it. Wouldn't wear anything else in winter time.
