2 Years ago one of our members killed a buck that had been shot by another member the year before in the same green field. The first time we blood trailed the deer but lost the trail in a clearcut. We assumed he would die but we never found him. Got trail cam pics of the same buck the next year. I actually saw him and passed on him and put my buddy that had never killed a mountable buck on him. I named the buck Crip, he had a bad limp, but had been seen chasing does. First time my buddy sat on that field, he killed the buck. He was 4 1/2 yrs old and only weighed 120 lbs. The shoulder on the side he was shot previously in leg just below his chest, was completely atrophied. The wound didn't affect his rack, he was a 9 point with a split g-2 and made a nice mount. They are some tough critters, we found blood and bone fragments the first time he was shot.
