What is yalls go to when it comes to fishing for bass between january and feb. jUST wanted to hear everyones ideas.

Depends on where you're fishing.
On the Tennercee Crick, a lipless crankbait, jig or jerkbait works along grass lines and old mid-depth areas.
A guy caught an 11-pounder last week on a Sweet Beaver off a boat house. So they could be roaming a bit with the mild weather.
Right now in Florida it's pre-spawn in most central areas and some northern spots, again depending on the weather. Four or five days of bright sun and nice temps can get them going.

My go-to lure for this time period would be a 1/2-3/4oz Jig or a crankbait worked slowly. If that doesn't work i'll swing by the local bbq place and get a fried catfish plate. UmmmmmmmUmmm.

Rattle trap or a jig. That what I have the most confidence in this time of year. If its slow try the ole shaky head rig, not sure about the tennesse lg mouth but the coosa spots love 'em.

If you're fishing the Pascagoula, I'd probably go with the jigs in black-blue, black or brown or some shallow-running crankbaits ... either of them around wood shoreline cover if there's current. Never have fished it. I'd probably start with the jig. If the bite's tough use a Shakey Head and green-pumpkin or black worm. If you're in a farm pond, the crank telephone works pretty well.

all of this depends on what lake you're on an the conditions. there's no one magic lure. i've always found that whatever lure you have the most confidence in, is usually going to work best for you. i like to use dark colors in muddy water w/rattles to make it easier for the fish to find. in clear water i use lighter and brighter colors. i have confidence in shaky heads and catch fish off of them year round. some people have more confidence in jigs and do better with them. i suggest you find something you like to fish and master it. then move on to something else and do the same.

I fish a jig more than any other lure, I swim them or drag them through thin grass, flip them through thick grass, drag or stroke them over points, skip em under piers, and fish deep ledges with them. I use all kinds of shapes, sizes, and colors depending on what I am trying to do with it. If I had to pick just one lure to fish with, it would definitely be a jig.

Jigs and cranks are my #1. $2 would be to SLOW roll-yo/yo a 1/2 ounce spinnerbait with #3 and #6 willow leaf blades
