I've never owned a Force but I've had several Mercury engines. With any used boat I would spend the money and take it to a good marine mechanic (unless you're handy at these things) to get the motor checked out. Make sure the compression is good and definately change out the impeller and plugs. If it has sat up a while the carb may need cleaned and fuel tank drained.
