I want to change factory trigger in my AR. Are Timney triggers one of the better options? What do some of you guys use?

I see the Timney's advertised with small pins and large pins. Does the average AR have small pins?

Timneys are great triggers. The RRA is a really good two stage trigger for less money. Unless you have a Colt, you should have small (standard) pins. I don't recall any other manufacturers making large pin guns. That was something colt did back in the 90's to prevent folks from putting M16 fire control in an AR. They have since stopped doing that

I haven't shot with the Timney so I can't speak to those, but I have a RRA NM 2-stage in my long-range gun and I think it is every bit as nice as the Geissle's I've used.

I've put a hyper fire in mine. Was skeptical due to price less than 60 bucks. Came with a 2,3,4lb springs. I put the 4lb spring in it and it breaks consistently at 3lb 15oz. It has very little creep and has been reliable so far. I would always recommend Timney I've used them for years and their proven. I'm not a big AR guy so others may have more info than myself.

Anyone ever heard of Joe Bob Outfitter in Kansas? They have Timney 3LB triggers for 189.95 with free shipping. Reviews look good. Is a 3LB trigger too light for a plinker/defence rifle?

Can't speak to ARs but Timney made a world of difference on my 700 and M77.

Timney triggers are good but overpriced. I have 2 POF drop in triggers I purchased for less than $150 each that came with anti rotation pins. Really nice trigger and a great value.

Nah, 3lb would be about perfect for that. Be a good hunting trigger too. I just put two Timney trigger in a couple Savage accu trigger guns. They are set at 1.75 lb. The owner is using the gins for long range precision rifle matches though
