Take-down on it is slightly different than an AR...but it's an AR.

But hey, I don't know what I'm talking about.

Carry on

why didnt you just say that in the first place

Its about the little things man....

Honestly, I knew that someone on here would chime in with "yes, it is". So I thought that I would mention that they are hard as crap to find.

I've never had my hands on one. I would very much like to.

Looks overbuilt to hell and back. Ambi controls. Folds down compact. Whole platform was designed to be suppressed. For the most part the reviews I've read/watched are very positive. Gun comes standard with a lot of "extras" that everyone that is serious about the platform is going to add anyway.

The one universal complaint that I've seen is that the trigger SUCKS. Is like 8lbs+ on all test guns. Seems like for such a well built gun...they would put a decent trigger on it.

The Madison hwy 72 location had them all removed today. I was shopping with my daughter. I replaced the few items I had in my cart. I left my cart at the only open register and politely told the cashier it was half full but I returned everything since corporate took a stand against something I believe in.

Academy has corporately decided to remove them from view as to not offend anyone.

So does that mean they still sell them? I saw they still had 5.56 ammo online.

Well it looks like my last dollar has been spent at Academy as it was with Dick's when they did the same thing after Sandy Hook

Same here! It really pisses me off that Academy has caved to the PC crowd! I spend hundreds of dollars a year there because I thought they were a Southern owned store that stood for sportsman and our constitutional rights. I was wrong and will spend my money elsewhere.

I won't step back in there. I also did the same thing with Dicks sports a few years back. Went online and bought a bunch of cheap stripped lowers just in case smile. Some great deals out there right now.

Not only did they cave in and remove them from the shelves, they removed all soft air, paint ball , pellet and BB guns that "looked" like an AR from the shelves. And any one buying 10 boxes or more of 223, 5.56, or 7.62 ammo or bulk ammo, they are suppose to get your id, get your information and call their firearm compliance people.

if we stop buying from soulless big box sporting goods stores maybe we can go back to buying from small mom and pop businesses.

Bad move by Academy. If they try to be a firearms retailer with a PC brand image, they will offend customers on both ends of the spectrum.

so wait.....they're still selling them and you can still walk up to the gun counter and "check one out", they're just keeping them "out of site" because they're afraid someone walking through the gun department might be offended at the sight of them?

That's the dumbest shucks I've heard in a long time, and that's saying something.

I'd actually probably have [a little] more respect for them if they just quit selling them all together. At least it would show they were willing to stand by their beliefs, whether I agree with them or not. Instead, it sounds like they're too ball-less to even pick a side...
