are they no longer selling them? I was just looking on their website and there's not a single A/R type rifle listed on their site anymore?

I could see them bowing to pressure from anti-gun folks to stop selling them...is that what has happened?

I fear this is only the beginning. The news outlets are reporting it was, "an AR-style assault rifle."

I don't see Academy caving into the AR hype fallout from the weekend shooting. At least I hope not.

If they do, y'all need to keep an eye open. They're likely to do what Walmart did last year and liquidate them around half price.

Academy is owned/run by a holding group that is heavily democrat.

Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

Hell the ones in mobile don't carry much pistol/rifle ammo anymore. I go to the hated field & stream smile

X 2! But their ammunition selection is mighty slim.

Is it mostly/all black, and/or "scary looking"? If so, then I'd say the answer is a definitive YES!

Technically, I do not think it is considered an A/R (although media will label it as such). I believe the receiver/lower is unique to that rifle and not interchangeable with other "A/R's"

Availability of that firearm is very scarce.

And you are welcome.

And it most definitely is an AR.

1) An MCX upper will run on a standard milspec lower (just beats up the buffer tube some).

2) same controls as AR

3) 5.56 accepts standard AR mags

Take-down on it is slightly different than an AR...but it's an AR.

But hey, I don't know what I'm talking about.

Carry on

Well....I stand corrected.
