Use Dr Woodall or Dr Bowen, I have seen a lot of their patients and they both do excellent work.
Well, the way I see it is there's just too many assholes On a good day there's a bunch of assholes in here. On a bad day there's too many assholes in here.

Dr. Cordover at Andrews Ortho / St. Vincents This is my neck guy. I've got 5 vertebra involved / degenerating and will have to have surgery at some point. When I do, this is the guy that will do it
I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin. Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...

I could have used Andrews or any of the doctors in his office. He and my mother are personal friends, but I was recommended to use a Neurosurgeon not an Ortho.
I used Charles Clark at St Vincents. He has the personality of a fish, but he is an excellent surgery. I had C5, C6, C7 fusion and was back at work in 7 days. I should have waited 14 but he fixed me right up.

I was amazed to learn that a lot of these invasive procedures are accessed in the front of the neck, rather than the back of the neck.
Less large muscle damage, I was told. A good physician, surgeon, or attorney are still worth EVERY nickel you spend.
I bet it irks them to no end to read all the laymen's comments, buzzwords, and diagnosis' learned on the interwebs when it comes to their field of study.

Use a neurosurgeon, not an ortho.

Yeah, I think they used a post hole digger on the front of my neck.

Hate you got hurt S.Dave. One of the best Neurosurgeons in Alabama is in Montgomery.. John Hackman, is also a mechanical engineer. If you can get over the name Hackman, he is one of the best.

When I broke my neck they had to go in from the front and back to repair it. Dr. Givhan in Tuscaloosa did mine and my lower back surgery.

Thank you all for the words of wisdom! You can always count on my brothers and sister on aldeer for words of encouragement and help! I got my MRI results back and it's c5-6 and the worst is c6-7. It's most like likely workmans comp. but I had some time after my injury before pain and numbness showed up. My city Dr. said he would not make the call so he is sending me to a neurosurgeon to get their opinion if it was from my work injury or not. I don't care if they call it WC or not I just want to get back to work. The wheels move very slow I'm managed health care. It is what it is with WC and I know many people abuse the system but it is hard to be looked at like am one of the bad guys. I'm please keep me in your prayers! Thanks again! Dave

I refer to Dr Stan Faulkner who is now at grandview. He does nothing but spinal surgery.
