Thanks for the answers. I might use pine shavings that I buy to go in the chicken coop. Of course not after its in the coop After it's been in the coop is even better. Till in in the fall. I use sand in my coops and dig it out every fall. And till it in garden to lay and mellow all winter. Also planting the whole garden in turnip greens makes for good fodder when it's tilled in in spring time.
