Hoping is a marginal tactic. I agree with you about this guy; he's not doing what a successful turkey hunter does; I can't find hope in my turkey pouch.
I'll just throw this out there.
A good turkey hunter, is not determined by how long he has been hunting a piece of land or how many hours he has spent scouting. If you're kills depend on either of those things, then they aren't skills, because they don't work on the property two miles down the road.
Scouting and learning a new piece of hunting land is not a skill?! Well damn.
The methods and tactics learned on tract A can shape the tactics on tract B and may work exactly the same.
