I'd say he called up 3-4 for himself and then about a dozen more for kids and friends...... That's just a guess but I think Gobbler sees double digit turkeys die about every year. Actually as best as I can tell somewhere about 1/3 of the guys that post a good bit on here see double digit turkeys get killed most years, so it really ain't gonna get many of them thinking about changing up their tactics when they hear that your brother spent his season sweltering in a tent in total silence and managed to bushwhack 4 turkeys in the process. I'm tickled for him if that made him happy but honestly that sounds more like punishment to me. That takes every single thing about turkey hunting that makes it so unique and perfect out of the equation.
See, that's the thing; he didn't do that. He observed & found out the times the birds were at the different spots, and went & sat for maybe a couple hours, max, and killed the birds.
I'm not trying to convince anyone to change their tactics. The OP mentioned tactics, and I'm responding to the OP. This "tactic" was left off.
Again, for the FOURTH time now, I'll say again, blind hunting is not my preferred method to turkey hunt. But if it produces the birds, then what's the difference?
