. The only thing I noticed this year was a huge number of hens. I can only guess that with that many hens around, gobbling once or twice in the tree was enough.
I would've been thrilled to hear a gobble or two in the tree. It seems like the many hens I heard were really wanting to "hook up" bad, yelped a lot and often, and either walked off quietly or walked off yelping and I could hear them as they did.
