Er, depends on who is doing the loading.
Out of the hundreds of tss shells that I've loaded and fired, only one has ever misfired, and it was at a really big gobbler that would have been #5 for the season that year. I was a lot more unhappy than BGD is over his coyote, and those who were on this forum when it happened will remember all my moaning and whining about it.
But it was nobody's fault but mine. I was using a seal over the powder and it had 2 small holes in it. I suppose they put the holes in it to make it easier to seat, but it is a really bad idea, imo. I didn't think the holes were big enough for powder to migrate thru them, but they were, and it did. That created a hollow area in the powder and the shell acted just like the one BGD has described so well. Filling the holes with fingernail polish solves the issue. I made new shells and killed him the next week. gobbler would say it was a different turkey, but he looked the same to me.
It doesn't matter who makes the shells, any are capable of failing. My uncle had a .270 round fail to ignite when shooting at a big buck one morning. The primer went off, but not the powder. There was enough force in the primer to push the bullet into the lands. He bolted in a new round to shoot the deer, but it lacked about 1/16" being able to close the bolt. If it had gone a little further, his gun woulda been a bomb on the 2nd shot.

For everybody that says it wouldn't have happened with TSS.... I got a bad fiocchi hull last year. Tried to fire it twice and it just wouldn't go off. I reckon out of the whole bag that was the only bad one but anything can and will happen if you shoot enough. Fortunately I was just shooting at a piece of paper to check my sights as opposed to an old boar tom
Go to bass pro and buy some shells you are confident in. I killed 5 birds this year with winchester longbeards xr. Killed two last year in three days. Killed one bird in the pouring down rain with them this year.
Sounds to me like you you expected to get a lifetime supply of shells or something. If you hunt long enough a misfire will happen. You had a fluke deal. Google hevi-shot misfire. You will find stuff on that as well. Could they have dealt with this a little quicker.....maybe. I am sure they have a lot more to worry about than a turkey hunter who had a misfire on a coyote.
One more thing...I am sure everyone has had a misfire at one point or another, yet we don't feel the need to bash or complain on a public forum. Stop bitching and complaining go to bass pro being you had no confidence in a shell for 22 days and buy something you believe will never have any issues and kill a turkey.
