Another morning of listening to the birds on the neighbors property.

I was beginning to think I was all alone in the woods today. I haven't heard anything that resembles a turkey.

The only thing I heard this morning were the skeeters buzzing around my head. I'm so mad at the non-gobbling jerks that it's not funny! I had a hunch that a gobbler had been staying by this old home place and sure enough, I found his tracks. These tracks were laid down between Saturday and now, so maybe I can get on him today

I too was tired of the non-gobbling bastages so I slept in. Got eat slam up by bull gnats for the past two days.

I haven't seen or heard a bird in over 3 weeks....additionally, I can't even find so much as a single track in places that were covered in tracks a month ago...

They've disappeared

Took my oldest son this morning as it's his birthday (9) and that was his request. Didn't hear a bird one, but spent some quality time together and had some great conversation about growing up and life.

We topped it off at Donut Joe's for breakfast and checked him in to school late.

It's been a good day! thumbup

I got up to go and saw that it was foggy and that was enough reason for me to go back to bed. My turkeys still are only gobbling on the roost and a little after they hit the ground and then it's over. I've had enough of that

Heard one gobble about a mile away it seemed like. For all I know the dang birds have done turned nocturnal. Rain moving in this afternoon as well.

3FFarms that's time well spent my friend!

Didn't hear a gobble for the first time on Saturday and it was real foggy...do they tend to shy away from being vocal on those foggy mornings? May be thinking too much about it as usual

Well folks, my day was considerably better than most it seems. Went back to spot where I hunted Sunday morning with grandson. Had heard a bird gobbling steady that morning. This morning u counted at least 3 birds gobbling on roost and on the ground. 2 were pretty far away across bottom but one was fairly close in same spot as Sunday. They all shut up around 730 but I kept soft calling every 10-15 minutes and this guy showed up 25 yards away about 830. Nice 2 year old I think. I've got Friday morning to do something that seemed impossible on April 1st, limit out in Alabama.

Same here. I went anyway this morning to a spot that had 6 gobbling birds in it 3 weeks ago. 3rd morning in a week without so much as one clearing his throat. They are still there I think. I did a mid day hunt on Sunday and saw a coyote bust a flock of hens at 1pm. I just don't have the time right now to sit in there and wait on them all day. With the weather report I may try Friday morning just to say I did. Sat looks to be a washout.

if you had that many birds hammering, it should be very possible! Congrats on the bird and the season!
