Recon we might have gotten a turkey nest?! One of my FAVORITE places to turkey hunt - daughter killed one earlier about 50 yds north of this area.

Nice use of several firing techniques, including a nice spot fire ! In a small burn block, what is the youngest Longleaf PLT you would consider burning in May-June "lightning Season" ?

Song is "Old Love" by Eric Clapton, but not sure who recorded this one.

Less than 5' tall I wouldn't do it or would expect severe mortality. 5-10' a careful fire can be ok. 15' + they are good.

PCP - don't work well - turkeys apparently don't like the "swarm of bees" sound - You don't think I didn't already try it did you laughup grin

Goose its a DJI Phantom 3 - good reasonable price drone with great photo and vid capability.

LOL - I didn't think a drone would make enough noise to bother them. I once had a gobbler walking across a 5 acre field to me on the way to his death on opening morning several years ago. When he was about 100 yds from me, a helicopter came right over the field real low and he ran back into the woods. I have never before or since seen a helicopter come over one of my fields that low, and the odds of it happening a few seconds before I was about to kill a turkey have gotta be something like one in a billion.

I knew that morning I was jinxed, and the season proved it. Had to take extreme measures to get out of it. smile

We tried a buddy of mines drone in Missouri and it does spook the turkeys. They all ran and got under some kind of brush. I guess they think it's a hawk??
