I wear them hunting Jackson County mountains and they do fine. This is my 3rd season with them and so far they are holding up. They could use a more aggressive sole for climbing, but I get by. Now I don't need alot of ankle support, so I'm not sure if they are actually providing what you would need. Took me about 2 weeks wearing them to work to get them broke in good...they are pretty stiff at first.


Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. When I say ankle support I mean more than a muck style boot provides while climbing. I've been wearing a 9" lace up hiking boot which works great but doesn't provide much protection from snake bites. I'm tired of risking it and am getting on the snake boot train next season, I just need to make sure I can climb those hills with them. Thanks again for the info.
