Shuter, you know anywhere to get that AU Crimson Clover. I would like to try it but have had no luck finding it.

My food plots are sprouting very well. I had a little washing and rafting up of lighter rye seed from one heavy rain, but that is fine. Evolved Harvest is known for having plenty of rye seed...so I'll have plenty. At first I thought most of the plot had been washed away...but the seed were covered by a thin, optimal layer of sand. They're pushing through well.
My clover germinated/sprouted within 4 days...and now the forage rape and brassicas are sprouting well. The seedlings are spread out uniformly, as I wanted. In about weeks I'll apply a little energizing fertilizer.
Later season bow hunting from a ground blind....here I come ! (if we continue to get adequate rain)
How are your plots doing ? Fine, I hope.

I got a much better stand than I thought. Sand washed by the heavy rain covered the brassica and clover seed a bit deeper than I thought. They have sprouted well..with good coverage.
I mixed half a bag of ShotPlot with an equal amount of Thro and Gro...and ShotPlot has more turnips (brassicas) and forage rape seed. This concentrated more of what I was desiring to plant for later season deer browse. Throw and Gro has clover, tet. rye, brassica and forage rape.
Lesson learned:
1) The clover sprouted in dry soil within 4 days after planting.
2) Next year I'll mix separate bought brassicas, clover, forage rape with a little winter wheat.
3) I'll omit smoothing off the top of the soil on sites with any degree of slope (to prevent washing and rafting of seed.)
4) For my smaller plot plantings...I'll leave small furrows and lightly drag in the seed with a rake.
