A buddy of mine caught this one fishing in a private pond in Macon County, Alabama. 10lbs 10oz. Fat girl full of eggs. Pond was only built three years ago.

Had to be a transplant....Bass isn't going to get to 10lbs in 3 years...That is a pig fo sho

Actually, I know a pond in Macon County that has 10-pounders that were stocked three years ago.
Tiger Bass, very aggressive and incredibly fast growth rate with the proper forage and habitat.
That's a great bass, no matter where it comes from.

I said the same thing last year when they caught one that went 9lb 8oz. The pond is managed by Southeastern Pond Management and was stocked with Tiger bass from American Sportfish. The growth rate can be up to 2 lbs a year or more. I always figured that a few bigger ones had gotten in there but the pond people swear there weren't. They also stocked shad so that the bass have an easier food source than the bluegill. this pond is also manged so that ALL bass over 14" are released and ALL bass 14" and under are kept. I suppose it keeps the better bass laying the eggs. Here is the 9lb 8oz bass.  Not unusual to fish this pond, 14 acres and catch 40-50 bass in one day. Kind of like saltwater fishing...just watch for the shad breaking water! LOL!

That pond wouldn't be located at Southwynn would it. Steve stocked one of the ponds about 4 years ago with Tiger Bass and we have seen some pretty goods come out of there this year.
Tiger bass are by far the most fun bass to catch, other than a Peacock bass. There is pond here in Montgomery county that has been managaged by the same group that is absolutely phenomenal. It is not unusual to catch 200 to 300 bass a day and many of those will tip the scales at 6lb or better. Unlike Florida largemouth they continue to be agressive when they get larger.

I used to fish the ponds you are talking about all the time. It used to be awsome down there. I caught many in the 8-11 lb range and would catch 50-100 a day. But where you hunt has some of the biggest fish i ever caught in it.
