Any little town that has 1 or 2 cars to patrol with is bad. Town creek and Addison may be at the top of the list.

Gulf Breeze doesn't run radar much anymore, except at the foot of the bay bridge. Our traffic count is between 50,000 & 60,000 cars a day. Weekends and holidays are worst. The traffic light cameras are where the tickets get written. About $150.00 a pop.

The worst speed trap I have ever seen was Ebro, Fl in the 70's. The city cop would flag the "speeders" over and his secretaries would write tickets. I have seen 15 or so cars in a row pulled over waiting for the tickets.

LOCKHART...Wilmer, Al used to be, haven't been through there in a long time, though. Golden Meadow, La...used to be the worst in the USA, prolly still is. Laurel Hill, Fl. used to have a bad reputation, but I haven't even seen any of their PD in years, dunno if they even still have one. Laurel Hill..home of the Hobo's, disbanded their force many years ago. On occasion you'll see a deputy sheriff.

State Road 6 going by The Legends in Prattville. Motorcycle cops sit behind the bushes by The Legend's entrance.

Gordo, AL
That town was built on the backs of college students and other hapless motorist traveling through there. They give no quarter.

.... The traffic light cameras are where the tickets get written. About $150.00 a pop. Speaking of those cameras. The one at Taylor Rd and 231, below Mtgy, don't miss a trick. I've seen that thing flash dozens of times. I've never been flashed, but I hate those things.

59 south into Loxley and Hwy 80 through Uniontown have already been mentioned. 29 south coming into Tuskegee is similar to the Uniontown rapid drop. The one I hear about most frequently is Camp Hill police on 280...they're constantly taking a dump on somebody.

Do they still have a cop? I know it used to be really bad, but I haven't seen a cop there in years.

My definition of a speed trap isn't an area simply patrolled all the time with speeders ticketed.
Places like Uniontown drop the speed from 65 to 35 with no warning and the cop is sitting there at the speed limit sign and tickets you before you can slow down.
Hampers filled used to do the same thing. I do t know that they are as bad as the used to be since their courts were shutdown by the state for racketeering.
I don't see how you can have a speed trap on the interstate. The speed limit is consistent. Autaugaville on Hwy 14 heading east does the same thing. Speed limit is 55 then when you crest a hill it suddenly drops to 45 without any "speed zone ahead" signs. Unless you know it is coming it is virtually impossible not to speed. I don't think they have a PD anymore though and the state and county don't seem interested in running a trap there. Autaugaville used to be really bad. I don't think it's patrolled anymore like it used to be. I still slow down to 30 mph through there because of it's reputation..

Decatur Al. Supercop pulls folks over all day long on the causeway and hwy 20 out by Apple lane farms. That's all he does.

The causeway and Highway 20 are like the backstretch at Talladega, so I don't blame him.
I finally quit asking for Huntsville PD, Madison County Sheriff and Alabama State Troopers to patrol the Old 431 stretch between Hampton Cove and Gurley. People regularly do 70 on the road, which necks to two-lane and has a 45 mph speed limit there with 55 on the 4-lane. But it's rife with teens, parents with young kids and elderly folks along with almost a dozen roads/entrances. And some drivers treat it like Daytona.
If the police camped out here I wouldn't have a problem at all. But they don't. And it's futile to ask.

Pearl Mississippi. Town creek alabama. collierville Tennessee. Headed to Collierville next week. I tellem hello for you when I get pulled over Knock on wood I haven't been pulled over there yet. But out of every time I have been to Arkansas hunting I have seen em set up right where it's goes from two lane to four lane before you get on the interstate. Most times they already have someone pulled over.

That one in Uniontown is the worst. And you don't have to be speeding to get pulled over for speeding. Last time they pulled me over I had the cruise set on 55 coming through that 65 zone. Know it's a trap so I make it a point to keep the cc set 10mph under. Had a tractor trailer passing me and another trying to drive into the bed of my truck when we all met the popo topping that little hill. Sure enough, he pulls me over and says I'm doing 70mph.
I thought I was going to jail that day. Only time I've ever lost my temper with a policeman. He asked me why I was so nervous and I said, "nervous hell! I'm pissed! I wasn't going 70mph. I know this is a trap so why the he$$ would I be running 70 through here!"
He finally told me to calm down and sent me on my way. I considered myself lucky LOL

Brent on hwy 5....harpersville on 280....Mercedes exit on 459.... harpersville shut their force down I think account of the debtors court the city was running. but I still make sure I'm right at the speed limit when I do go thru there. there was a few times they stopped cars doing 90 to over 100 going thru the red light there.
if i hadnt taken up hunting i might have became a juvenile delinquent or worst taken up GOLF
