Think I killed the only gobbler on our 1200 acres. Not a gobble this weekend. It is not looking good for adding any more to the score tracker for me.

Well, I got my first Merriams this morning! With more birds gobbling right after I shot we just took a few pics and got back to hunting. Didnt get any good shots of the beard or spurs before I cleaned it so I guess this one wont be entered in the contest. Wouldnt have scored well anyway. One spur was broken off and the other was maybe an inch. The beard was swinging when he walked up but I mustve pulled the shot a little and took some of it out. It had a few strands that were about 8". Got a few more days left and one more tag so maybe I can find another one. Got some roosted for the am so we'll see how it goes.

Congrats linz! Good looking bird. Fella's, I hate to say it but my season ended today... Redstone Arsenal put out a quota of 19 turkeys for the season, and this morning they hit it +1 for total of 20 gobblers killed so no more turkey hunting on RSA. Sure hate that I wasn't able to connect with one, and more importantly I hate that I didn't get any points on the board for our team. Hate to let ya'll down like that. Regardless, I did enjoy getting out there and giving turkey hunting a try this year. Ya'll are some sho nuff turkey assassin's!

Congrats ben That beard looks like a horses tail , geez Ha Ha nah it was only 11". It looked about 15" when he came walking up on me. I love when they come through big open hardwoods and have no clue where you are!
