but I sure used to love sitting in a tree, lightly swaying in the breeze, and watch the sun come up. I have several shooting houses that I made sure the windows faced the field as well as east. To me a sunrise is one of the most uplifting things I can watch.
When I started hunting I was like Skinny said, from a simple spot. I dont think I got caught up "keeping up with the Jones'" as much as I had been doing it longer and accumulated more things, but in the last few years I find myself sitting in one stand the most. It has the best view for sunrise. Several times I will be there watching and listening to the world come to life around be and realize there a couple of deer in the field.
Being outside and with friends is where I find the most peace. And that is more important to me than killing a B&C.
You haven't been here long enough to have enjoyed some of Brody Joe's writings from years back, but that man could paint pictures on your soul! I'd HIGHLY recommend reading "Here Where We Belong-A Collection of Outdoor Memories" by Otha Barham...I believe he and ol' Brody Joe are kindred spirits. This is probably one of the most pleasant and uplifting books I've ever read, and is even suitable for very young readers. Give it a read, you won't be sorry.
