I only have access to 6 acres or so. Each morning I hear birds gobbling off our property. I kept seeing tracks in our food plots so I know eventually they are coming in. I went in last Tuesday about noon and saw one get up and ease off the plot before I could get a shot off. I put out my decoys and waited. About an hour later a hen came on the plot. 30 minutes after that, something caught my eye. Two gobblers were coming in for her at full strut...until they saw my jake decoy. The made a b-line for it and that's where I busted him. He was probably a 2 year old bird. 9 inch beard and about 3/4 inch spurs. It was a fun afternoon!!

Nice job Tide and congrats. Goes to show you don't need to be on hundreds of acres to kill a bird. Also, your scouting paid off as you knew they were coming into your property, along with you being patient and just sticking on the plot. Well done!,

Thanks! It's tough to sit that long but I knew they were coming in. It's been frustrating at times hearing them gobble across the line and not being able to go to them. There was another one with him so I'm still after him.
