congrats on all the kills.

Sorry, I've been out of town 2 of the past 3 weeks and am way behind with work.

That being said, I missed opening day and opening weekend and the first 10 days of the season (work rewards trip, so i had no choice on the dates). First time in 25 years I've missed this much of turkey season. But I'm back now and have had some good hunts. Missed one last week and have come really close several other mornings. This will likely be my worst season every, but hope to kill a few before it's over.

I got close again this morning. Called a big Tom and his hen up to about 60-70 yards. Didn't have a good shot. Watched him strut for over an hour. Maybe she'll leave him soon

Slow start for me. I missed one on the opener Friday, got one within 80 yards Saturday afternoon but hens took him away. Dang job is getting in the way this week, but I will be after them Friday.

Didn't hear one until 8:44. Finally found one gobbling good. Went back to truck to try to get to him quicker/easier by circling on road. When I got back where I thought he was i couldn't hear him anymore.

Well guy,s hope you guy,s have not been thinking im not a hunter.I have had alot of unexpected thing,s come up in the last week. My 7 year old daughter had her tonsil,s out. That put me out for a week. Then I had a couple check up,s with the heart doctor.my dad just recently died in December with heart complcations. But im back ready to go now. I Thought i was gonna close the deal yesterday.3 longbeards came out ing the feild behind my house.but by the time I put my camo on the neighbors, stray dog decides to start barking his head off at a cat.then the turkeys left .

I'm still looking for a upgrade but just haven't had much luck as late. Good luck to everyone still after them.

Might have to get you to come kill this monster turkey i have been after. I see him everyday but in the morning,s he will not gobble. But around 10 am he,s in the field.the problem is when he get,s to the feild he is by himself I hadnt seen him strutting or anything he is alway,s very alert. I have tried sneaking up on him everytime I get busted. Im gonna say he,s got to be an old tom because I have killed alot of turkey,s and never ran into one like this one.when he run,s back into the wood,s he wobble,s I saw him 3 different time,s yesterday.2 times in the evening.I have other turkey,s to hunt but this one will be special if I can kill him.well good luck to you guy,s.

Just go sit on that field and kill him. Don't call him. Put a end to that joker.

When you get caught sneaking on him, that's probably what's making him like that. Lol

Man i have been so close to getting him. It is like hunting that monster buck .the other turkey,s are a give me.I wont let you guy,s down. That,s a promise.the big turkey is gonna go over 24 pound,s with either a very thick beard at 11 to 12 inch,es or possible multiple beard,s it is hard to quit on a bird like that.

Congrats guys, this season has been terrible for gobblers so far. Have had jakes run off a gobbler multiple times, and have called in 20-25 jakes in to less than 30 yards. The jakes are good for next year, but are giving me fits this year. Went to a place this morning and called in 5 hens, but no gobblers around. Hopefully I will catch a break soon.
