If you are shooting something like a Sendero; recoil is not a big deal in 300WM.

I huntd with 7mag for years, I bought a browning 300 and just love it. I really don't see much difference in what it does to deer when shot. Doesn't mess them up any more. There isn't much difference except for the velocity. The bullet part is about the same size, just powder casing larger.

Thinking of buying a Remington Sendero only offered in 300 Win Mag or 7 millimeter mag which would you go with? Not trying to argue with you at all but you are wrong on the Sendero being offered in only 300 win mag & 7 MM mag. It is offered in 5 different calibers. http://www.remington.com/rifles/bolt-action/model-700/model-700-sendero-sf-iiI own one of them in .300 RUM and it would be my first choice of the 5 calibers available if I were buying one today.

They are both a wash. 300wm will have more energy down range and a harder kick. The 7mm will have less recoil and has the best range of bullets with the higher BC. That being said I have the 300 sendero, love the gun, though I never shoot it anymore. Actually may sell it soon x2, but both will perform, I have both.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.
