My grandfather wore his hat like that his entire life. Every old man I knew growing up wore their hats that way. Just remembered after seeing this that my wife's late grandfather wore his like this, with no bend or barely one at all. Mostly flat, though. Including the one signifying his time in the service on a destroyer in World War II. He was neither a "democrat" or anything other than a good Christian man. The "democrat" thing is about to be worn out on this place.
