Does anyone have the Ol Tom essentials vest that can offer a review? I have one. I like to travel light for the most part so the essentials vest worked pretty good for me. It basically has two main pockets for your calls and essentials. It does have the fabric holders for shells in the left pocket which will hold 4 additional shells. The main pockets have horizontal zippers: on the sides of the main pockets are vertical zippers which are small pockets between the main pocket and the inside liner. There is an external box call pocket and some little loops on the shoulder straps for crow calls and owl hooters. They have a little keeper for those shoulder strap loops so you don't lose your call. It has a little cushion that is held up with magnets which suck because your seat will just fall down while you are walking. The retention is so bad with those magnets that a twig will yank your seat down. I wound up taking mine off. They are very light. I am about to give mine to my son. I picked up one of the bigger Ol Tom vests at a good price today.

Overall it's pretty good but you will hate the seat.

I was about to pull the trigger on another super elite, but that vest makes me so hot! I loved the seat on that vest though.

If you don't use decoy's and you like a seat flopping on the back of your legs while you walk that'd be perfect dang deer hunters No decoys in the mountains and that seat is tight till you release the strap to use it. Vest+ 85 degrees + NA mountains = HOT! Cabelas sold a rig called a 1/2 vest that looked good , however I don't think they offer them anymore.

I still kinda like that backpack vest. Those backpacks are the slickest rig I've seen. It may have had a AC unit in it, it dang sure had everything else covered.

I like Cabelas Tactical Tatr II. Very well built vest and I don't have to mess with buckling the seat any.
