I'm on a ga turkey forum also and I bet 75% wear snake boots and write about snakes a lot. I know a lot of turkey hunters and foresters here in ms and nobody wears snake boots or worries about them very much. What about you bama woodsmen, do slot of you wear snake protection?

i don't wear them but had a close mock strike once. if it was a fully committed strike it would have been real bad i was way out.

I wear them so I don't have to watch for snakes and can focus on turkeys and because they are waterproof.

I wear them 100% of the time during turkey and bow season.

I bought some lacrosse and they are comfy but only stayed waterproof for 1 hunt.

in my experience you have to get the all rubber boots to stay waterproof and mine have the bonus of snake protection

Yep, I wear them. Lots of ways to get hurt fumbling around in the woods all day. One less thing to worry about as long as you don't sit on him.
This is Aldeer! The place people come to vent their frustrations and completely change their stance a few minutes later...

I wear them anytime its warm enough for snakes so maybe 10 months out the year.

antivenom is pretty expensive and sometimes it takes a LOT to counteract a bite.

I wear mine any time I am in the woods. Half the time, even during deer season, I never get cold enough to have to wear anything else.
Only accurate rifles are interesting.

I got bit by a bat last fall and went through the rabies shot process. I remember them saying it would have been +-$15,000 without insurance
