Mike, there are definitely fewer deer in eastern Fayette and western Walker Counties in places. We know that. There are other areas in close proximity where deer are fine. I saw 49 deer yesterday in 7 miles of county roads in western Fatette co. That's not too uncommon. We didn't have enough information to justify moving it into Fayette Co. The area in the orange is where we have the most information and justification for making a change that we can defend. We can't extend it into pockets of lower numbers when 5 miles away deer are really dense.


I agree with differences in Eastern and Western Fayette Co. IMO all of Walker Co and Fayette Co East of Hwy 43 or at the very least East of Hwy 13/43. That is very close do the dividing line of the diffrent soil regions and a lot of diffrence in deer densities in those two diffrent soil regions.
