Since my wife is not fond of my idea of camping out in the attic with a lawn chair, a six pack and a pellet rifle, what's the best way to get them outta my attic. I need to figure out how he/they/it got in to start with but can't find any holes anywhere... I'm not sure it's a squirrel, but it sounds too big to be a mouse...any ideas on how to accomplish either? Anybody??

Tractor supply should have them. The small live traps cheap. Purchase some ear corn from bird seed area and place inside trap. Or you could put earn corn on a nail board on a tree in yard and shoot them with pellet gun. I would do both that would be faster.

Get a couple of those BIG Victor wharf rat traps, screw them to a truss and bait it with a pecan half or something.

Might be flying squirrels. We are dealing with them now in my father in laws porch. If you have a spot where a tree is close to the house try watching that spot right at dark for about 15 min.

Got a friend that raises pecans. He uses rat traps baited with pecans. Places them on a board with a string attached to trap, when they try to escape they fall off and hang

Send North40 a pm. He's been trapping them in some kind of mini conibears or something in a barn. I think he said he used peanuts

Thanks for the info fellas! I think I was gonna throw some d-con up there in hopes it was just a rat. Those Koro traps look like fun  !

I live in an old 1940s farm house out in the woods. Every darn critter in the woods at one time or another has somehow got in the house, attic, garage, or basement. Generally they are just driveby but the worst have been squirrels and wood rats. The only way to stop them is a process of blocking and eradication. I shot right at forty squirrels last year within 100 yds of home, usually closer. That stopped the dogs flea problem and squirrels in the garage. I go under the house regularly and look for signs of rats and making sure everything is sealed. Best hole stopper I've used is spray foam, coarse steel wool and a large screw driver. If the tip of the screwdriver can fit so can a mouse or rat. Spray in some foam then follow with steel wool jammed in on top of it, then more foam and steel wool until its packed. They can't get through it. Eventually they will stop. Got to find their access though.

This set-up will get them . I used a couple of bamboo poles -got the wire online from walmart screwed a can of goodies to the pole and watched the squirrels from my blind . Surprised at how fast they die when hanging from the snare.
