I am sure all the Trump haters will say I am rationalizing whatever he does or making excuses but doing a debate with Megan Kelley involved is a lose lose situation for trump and he has the good sense to know that. If he let's her jab at him then he is weak, if he jabs at her he is a bully picking on a woman. If he handles it perfectly it's at best a draw. I want a leader who recognizes how to negotiate from strength. If putin, or kim Jong un, or whoever want to meet with the president what good does it do the US if there is nothing to be gained? When there is something to talk about and they want to get serious and deal then meet, otherwise it's a waste of time and you run the risk of looking weak. You know why he can choose to show up at the debate or not? Because the Republican party is not pulling his strings and threatening to cut off his support like they would anyone else. Every one of them are under the thumb of the party. The same party that hasnt done a damn thing with the majority in both houses of congress for the past 2 years.
