I got some reset today, I had a lot of sign around my traps that should have been fur in the trap. This past rain had the traps sanded in, I haven't had that happen in a while. Maybe I'll have some pictures to post tomorrow.

I had one hole dug out that didn't get in the trap. Then had this pullout. Y'all ever had one do this?

I couldn't get the jaw back in without big pliers. Don't know how it pulled it out.

Breeze you must have had a pretty good sized yote to do that. Never seen that happen before. I have heard of people bending the ears up on the jaw to keep them from pulling out.

Yeah it's a #2 duke. I pulled them and laminated the jaws with 3/16 rod today. Maybe that will stiffen them up some to. I should have stepped up to bridgers or something. Just starting out I went cheap. I won't buy no more of them.

Breeze the laminations are good but you need to bubble weld the jaw tips so they can't pull through the frame. You just weld a bubble on the end of the jaw tip.
That or buy some better traps! Lol! Sorry dude I have a few duke traps that I've acquired over the years. I just hate they aren't built better.

Thanks I will do that before I reboil them. I bought them thinking I could see how I liked it. Now I'm regretting it since I lost my first catch.

I STILL have some No 2 Dukes . I Night Latched them, and I use them in places that MIGHT be some where a trap theif would steal them.

I have caught a lot of coyotes on regular jaw 1-1/2 dukes back in the 90's. All I'm setting now is MB 450 and 550's.

You know, I have run everything from a Dirty Duke No.2 to a JC Conners Jake Trap. That being said = a MB-550 is my favorite trap!
