I am with you, everyone brags about Gville and right fully so, but I much prefer to fish the Coosa river.

I agree. Not a fan of the place and have caught my biggest solo bag of fish there.. To each his own i reckon.. Only good thing about that place is odds are in your favor to catch at least a 5 pounder or better..

I guess I like it because I like topwater, grass, and I'm able to key in on a pattern there. Starting to like smith more too. Coosa is fun too but I never do well unless I have current.

Yea I saw you. Beautiful boat. Im from Killen, so Wilson and Pickwick are hard to beat for me. But since moving to Odenville a year ago I have started fishing down this way more . I enjoy Logan Martin, but only caught 1 good one on it (5lber). Ive caught bigger bags on wheeler than Gville, ive just never had one of those magical days you hear about. We had 22 something a few years ago and I guess thats the best day ive had on Gville.

I'm not a huge fan of guntersville either. I'd rather fish the alabama river around prattville montgomery. I weighed in 19 lbs one cold day in march. Still my best tournament sack

Ya'll quit talking about the Coosa and Al river. Guntersville is THE Meca for bass fishing, followed by all the Texas and Florida lakes.
Also, Lanier is the best spotted bass fishery E of the Mississippi.

GUntersville will always be in the shadow of several Texas lakes Lanier is an awesome spot fisherie only because of the introduction of Blue Herring. It was no better than Logan or Martin until the Herring caused a big jump in average size of spots there. Alabama has several great spot lakes, most people shy away from spot lakes because they are usually very clear.
FAlcon in Texas is usually won with a 4 lb average. RAyburn and Toledo are just awesome lakes. JUst too many great lakes in Texas to list. Choke CAnyon, Amistad. LIvingston and Conroe were wonderful till HYdrilla was destroyed.

Lanier's great for spots, no doubt, but I'd take a hard look at Smith (certain times of the year), the Coosa chain and maybe even the Warrior for some arm-wrenching magnums.

I was being facetious......
I hate what has happened to Guntersville and Kentucky lake and would hate to see that happen on the warrior, coosa, or Al river. I love how big the sport has become, just wish we had more lakes to spread out.
