I know and have dealt with most everyone they writer interviewed. The fact that he used them as a credible source for anything loses me. Selma certainly has its issues, but it is not now the fault of the white man as much as it is the fault of a welfare society.
That wouldn't sell many copies of whatever this article was in.
I can't fully understand what life is like for black folks living in Selma or black folks living anywhere. I do know that I have never considered the color of my skin as an aid to anything. I was raised by hard working parents and taught to work hard. Being permanently unemployed or living on welfare. or selling drugs has never been a thought that crossed my mind. I wasn't raised to think that way.
IMO, the biggest problem with (Insert any poor rural city) is that people accept living on welfare as normal and the government has promoted it as such.
I can't begin to understand how a persons spirit can be broken enough to think that living off welfare is acceptable. What normal person wakes up and decides to live off the government or be a drug dealer? The government has ruined a whole segment of our society and that part of our society is so blinded that they can't see it.
