Grateful to good friend for inviting me and my son to his club near Bankhead and more importantly to God for such a beautiful day and spot to hunt.  Luke is less enthralled with the beautiful day and is wishing he had gone to bed sooner.

Just got in the stand. 70 and a 10-15 mph s wind with gusts to 30. Hopes are not high this afternoon.

Been in the tree since 5:45 and saw one small buck at 11:05. This is making for one long day.

Back in a tree in Baldwin co. Walking in I found 3-4 existing scrapes that had been freshened up since last weekend. With love in the air I'm hoping the warm temps and wind won't slow the movement down too much. Either way I'm glad to be here. Congrats to those who had success today. That is one heck of a velvet buck! Awesome trophy!

He had quit hunting for several years and decided a few weeks ago that he wanted to start again. He's put in the work putting out stands and scouting. Today it paid off. Just a big nanny but the fact that he's interested in hunting again means more to me than a 12 pt. He's already talking about kentucky next year.
