I agree with Southwood. I like Matt and hate he is leaving……but he was too sensitive to play the role of the biologist giving advice on a public forum. He took every disagreement personally. A public forum is never going to be a place where you can just stand up on a stage and cast out your opinion to the crowd with no rebuttal. Folks have a right to have a different opinion and its more likely that the ones who disagree will be the ones who speak out. The folks who agree will just read it and shake their head “Yep.”. It’s not the end of the world if a few people disagree with you or don’t like what you have to say. Take the criticism or dissenting opinion like a man and move on. Folks get too butt hurt over having your knowledge or opinion put in question. If folks are slinging vulgar comments and just acting like fools then that’s one thing….but if its just a matter of someone having a different opinion or criticizing in a civil manner…..well, then that’s what the sign on the door about thick skin is really there for. That rule applies to us all equally. JMO but it's not just this one instance, it's more times than not when Matt posts something. People always criticize him in the things he says. That gets old fast. Would you go somewhere you not wanted?
