To those who think it's a "do nothing place" or "too touristy"...do y'all ever go into the park? And I mean more than just 1 quick ride through Cades Cove?
Like I said above, we usually spend 5 or 6 days at a time there and spend probably 90% of the daylight hours in the park. We use to go 2-3 times a year growing up and still go every year or 2. And I've never set foot in a single dinner show or any of those Ripleys type tourist trap places. There is so much to do that doesn't involve that lame stuff. And virtually all of it is FREE.
Presumably most of the folks on this board are the "outdoorsy type"...go explore the park.
