Since we are talking food, what's you guys fav. pizza place?

My top three are

1. Hideaway Pizza- Crestview, Fla.
2. Ragetti's-Lebanon, Ky.
3. Tortuga's- B'ham

P.S., It's easy to think about food all day when you're 165lbs.

Tortugas is really good.

I have found two others that serve really good pizza in the Birmingham area.

Davenports in Mt Brook and Post Office Pies in Avondale.

Tortugas hands down we get it pretty much every Friday at the office, Davenports runs a close second...

My vote is for these two, but in the opposite order

Ditto.

I worked at Davenports when I was 16 years old. That was almost 40 years ago... The manager there at the time used to give us beer from the taps after work and we would all stay up there til well after midnight drinking beer and lagging quarters up to the bottom of the big counter where we made the pizzas. The manager was good and I can't tell you how many quarters he took from us.

If a guy did something like that nowadays they would be put under the jail.

Nobody that worked there knew the recipes for the sauce, the sausage seasonings or the dough. The owners always came in on Sundays and made enough for the week if I remember correctly.

I've been going there since as long as I can remember and I don't believe the place has changed hardly at all. One of those Birmingham originals.

In Birmingham Davenports and Post Office Pies. I have not had a good deep dish pizza in Birmingham.

Geno's in Chigaco is the best in the world.
