I'm so sick and tired of spending my hard earned money on casual long sleeve shirts or T-shirts that are only good for about 4-5 wearings.
I prefer nice casual cotton shirts for work or just casual wear. Love flannel shirts when it is cold. I buy a mixture of store brand and name brand shirts whenever on a good sale. Some of the name brands are the worst...Columbia, Chaps, etc...
About the only good shirts I've found are the Belk Saddlebred no iron/cotton-poly blend very thin shirts...wash and wear and will last a couple years. These are mor summer time shirts, not cold or cool weather. I have some polyester or nylon Columbia fishing shirts that I really like, but sometimes I just want to wear a cotton shirt other than a dress shirt.
Most of today's shirts really suck. Lots of T-shirts do too. I hate it when...
1. The fabric draws up after a couple washes so much so that now the sleeves are more than an inch too short or the shirt tales will not stay tucked in when you reach over your head.
2. The front button placket (fabric section where the button holes are) decides to fold and wrinkle and it takes much work ironing and starching for it to stay looking right.
3. The collar starts to sag and fold over similar to the button placket.
4. Buttons come off very easy these days.
I'm not talking dress shirts....most dress shirts are made of better quality cotton and don't shrink or fold over at the placket or collar.
Rant over.

Tractor Supply has great long and short sleeve colored T-shirts that are great for casual wear. Probably not your choice for work, but otherwise they are very comfortable, have front pocket and long lasting.

May not be your thing, but I buy my work/hunting/fishing clothes at thrift stores. They are already pre-shrunk, softened, ect. At $3 or less. I even bargain shop at the thrift store. Picked up another pair of Columbia ROC pants for $2.50 last Friday. The Big Saver thrift store in Roebuck is a good one.

I wear the carhart long sleeve shirts an they've lasted for a few years I wear those too every day when it's cool/cold, under my company work shirt. I've got some that are over 8 years old and still look great. They will stay looking good as long as it isn't a real dark color that will fade.

Try finding uniforms that fit good after they've been washed for a few months. I hate those dang things but got tired of ruining decent shirts and pants at the shop.
This time around I got smart and got the shirts a whole size larger than I ever wear. They're still getting shorter every single time. I hate em. Whoever posted 3' wide and 2' tall got it exactly right. I hate that button being on my Adams apple too.
After 2 months of washing, I think I'm gonna get my belly button pierced because if I raise my arms up over my head, it's shining for all the world to see.

Oh and don't buy Wrangler shirts at the Walmarks if you ever use a torch or welder. They won't last a month.
