Well men, today my son finally got his first buck. The spike that came and went about 3:30 came back out right before dark. Brock didn't make the best shot ever recorded but we got on some blood about 30 yards from where he was hit. The blood trail stopped after about 10 yards but thankfully the deer was laying about 10 feet from the last speck of blood. The deer must have been quartering to us more than I thought. The bullet went in right behind the shoulder but came out mid ribcage on the opposite side. We have had some opportunities to take a couple of big bucks this season but couldn't close the deal. He has the green light to shoot any buck he wanted to shoot and as soon as the spike walked out the 2nd time his mind was made up. He wanted that one. I've got 2 great kids. God has richly blessed me. I guess the most special part of the hunt for me was being with my son and praying when we found the deer. We thanked God for the opportunity and the blessings. What a great afternoon!

Congrats Fur on the successful hunt for you and your son. My son and I were sitting together when he killed his first buck (7 pt) 17 years ago and still remember it as if it happened today.Great memories made today.
