Full story to come but caught two young boys. They killed a wide 6 point on our farm I have been watching. Waiting on GW NOW
Dad called me at 5:30 and asked if I was at the farm hunting that he had just heard a shot on the ridge. I told him I didn't make it down there this evening then proceeds to tell me he sees lights coming down the ridge toward the center of the property. He takes off after them in his truck and lost them. I finish what I'm doing at home and head down to meet him. On the way he calls and say he caught them. I told him to call the GW I will be there in a minute.
The boys were 16 and 15. The adjoining property owner which owns about 15acres give them permission to hunt his property. Grass was greener on our side so they crossed over couple hundred yards. As they were leaving they jumped the deer and shot him. When dad finally caught up with them they were 3/4 mile from the property they were supposed to be on. They were two very scared little boys to say the least.
We decided not to prosecut once the parents got there cause obviously the boys couldn't help there raising. GW got them for NO ORANGE. NO LICENSE. HUNTING WITHOUT PERMISSION. NO HARVEST RECORD NOT RECORDING A KILL.
One of the dads tried to get smart with us say he couldn't believe you can't cross a property line to get a deer you killed.i said had that been the case we wouldn't be here right now but they were hunting on our property Told him it wasn't to late that we could still prosecut if he wanted us too. He shut his mouth real quick. The boys were scare to death and apologized. It was too late for that tho
It just kills me to have worked so hard to have a great place to hunt and not worry about other people and something like this happens. I will post pics of the deer tomorrow

The bigger problem with these situations is the safety factor. How do they know that the land owner wasn't sitting on ground hunting the same area when they shot.
