We have had this lease for 4 yrs. Only 153 acres, but it holds some deer. Have seen a few good ones in the past on camera, but we have only ever killed 3 small bucks, spikes and 3 pt. And 2 does. Keep getting discouraged, but been sticking it out. We planted summer plots and supplemental fed 20%sweet feed and mineral powder mix up untill Oct1. Decided to take my boys up there again this weekend. Got up late Saturday evening sat for an hour saw nada. Sunday morning, got my oldest to the clearcut blind, and my youngest and I went to his shooting house and plot. 0720 my oldest txt telling me he shot a buck. I did not believe him, did not here the shot. But with the N winds, made sense, he said it was a good one. I could not stand to wait, JJ and I loaded up and headed down. Holy cow what a toad.       Weighed 175 with his nose still dragging the ground, and scored 146 3/8

In disbelief still ate lumch decided where they wanted to sit. My oldest covered a field and the road, and my youngest back to his plot. Caugjt a nap, he did too. I woke him about 4:30, to twll him its getting prime time. He woke up and we started scanning. Did this till 5:15. I told him it was getting close to time to go, he says just a few more minutes. We had 4 or 5 min of shooting light left. I say ok and concentrate on the back corner, a trail that comes into the plot. Scan around and back to the corner, Buck, get your gun. He dod, I asked if he could see it, he says yes I got him. I aak jim to tell me when he is gonna fire, I wanted to be ready to follow up just in case, I hate trackimg deer! Before I am ready he mumbles I am taking the shot and BAM!! I heard the shot, knew it was good. Waited 45 min and started tracking. He went 50,yrds tops.     Scored 109 1/8

My 2 sons harvested the 2 biggest deer we have had on camera in 2 years in one day. I have been and still am on cloud 9. Both made perfect shots and both are smiles from ear to ear!!!

"There not going in the Living room" hahaha. She came up Sunday about 4. Her and our daughter hing out at camp till she got the txt to grab my oldest and come help us look for JJ's. She and our 9mo bunfled up and helped us track.

That's great! Bucks of a lifetime for them. they'll always remember this. More young folk need to get involved in these activities instead of the other "nonsense" available to them today.
