Superdave was my rockstar buddy who died a few months ago from throat cancer. I should have made it clear that he got his life right in his later years, before he got cancer.
But this happened while he was still a sinner...
Me and Superdave were at The Jungle in Gadsden many years ago. I was 17 and he was probably 22 or 23. I got up and went to the bathroom, and when I got back Dave was gone. I finally found him at a table with 5 women in their 40's. He calls me over and tells me to sit down. He has a beer for me at the empty seat. 3 of the women are flirty, and 2 are cold as ice. It's Girls Night Out for them. Dave hits on one of the women sitting beside him. She tells him she's married, but it's obvious she is interested. The woman beside her is a mother hen type who reminds us that it's GNO and they are all married. Dave smiles at her. She made a smartass comment that I don't remember and Dave smiled again and said, "Well ma'am, I wasn't talking to you." She gives him another smartass reply. Dave asked her how old she is. Mother hen says, "That's none of your business." Again, Dave asks how old she is. She says, " None of your damn business." Dave says, "I was just wondering how long it took you to get so G-dd-mn ugly." I was the only one laughing and I couldn't catch my breath. Without missing a beat or giving mother hen a chance to reply, Dave looks at me and says, "Make us laugh, Brenner." I just looked at him. Dave told me that he had told them I'm funny, and they want me to make them laugh. I told him no. He said, "Make us laugh or find your own way home." I sat there for a minute weighing my options. Finally I pointed to a guy at the bar and said, "Do y'all see that guy over there wearing a shirt that says 'I'm a Douchebag'?" They say no. I say "Yep, the only thing is he spells it like 'It's great to be an Auburn Tiger'." They laughed like hell and I gained confidence. I told jokes and one of the flirty chicks bought me tequila shots and beer. After a while I looked at the flirty chick who had been buying me drinks and said, "I'd go home with you if you had a cooler full of Gatorade beside your bed." She says, "Why, because you would need to replenish your fluids?" I said, "Nope, it would be so damn good you would dump it on my head when we were done." Long story short, they left and 2 of them came back a little while later. I went home with the one that was buying me drinks. I didn't get a Gatorade bath, but she's 75 now and I'm still banging her. Just kidding...
