I killed one this year that tipped the processor's scale at 232.
Will track deer in Marengo, Greene, Sumter, Wilcox, Perry, Hale counties.

I've killed several over the years. This one was 230lbs  In all my years I don't believe I've ever seen one hung up that way. Interesting.  Did you get him to sit in that chair behind him while you cut his front legs?

I have killed about 10 or so that went over 200. Biggest confirmed by scale was 225.
However, I shot a buck in Choctaw County that when his meat was deboned and everything went to the processor I had a total of 82lbs of clean meat which only consisted of hams, shoulders, backstraps and tenderloins. Have no idea what that deer weighed in at. All I know is when I went up to him, I knew I was not about to drag that sucker by myself.

I'm 5'7 bout 170lbs. He weighed 210lbs.  There have been a bunch of deer hung up right there over the years

All the bucks that are killed on our place weigh over 200lbs or someone will be reaching for their wallet. It actually one of our criteria for shooting a buck.

It's rare in the parts of Monroe County I have normally hunted to kill one over two hundred. But it does legitimately happen occasionally.

Did you get him to sit in that chair behind him while you cut his front legs? My shrit is on backwards. Had put it on after I walked up the mountain and never noticed it till now.  As for hanging, we hang all ours that way. It's lets me field dress them in a flash. I cut the rearend out and start the belly cut before I start and in a minute or so the job is done. We bring all our deer out whole to get both a live weight and a dressed weight for over 20 years.  The chair is for me to reach the scales

In the early years on the Talladega National Forest. I killed an eight point on 2 DEC 79. One of the biggest I've killed, I couln't move him more than 5 steps without stopping to rest. Hid him and rounded up my kinfolk. No documentation, is it still required. He was after a doe, that looked like a fawn ahead of him. Went to Korea in January 80. My younger brother (6 years) Killed one in 80, on a different spot, I hunted. Bigger than my 79 8 by a lot. Big and heavy, both brothers say. On 22 NOV, 2001 I doubled up with my younger brother (2 year). I killed a 145 lb dressed weight 10 point. From the same tree, I had killed a spike (18 NOV 2001) while hunting the 10's scrape line. I knew that spike didn't leave that sign. We (kin) dragged him out. My plan was for all of to hunt my 10. He snuck up to another one of the kin spots. I said were is Chalie. They said Horseblock. He came driving up, I was sitting there with my 10. He said, nice but, l got him beat. I said, Ain't no way, are you serious. He said check him out. I said, "what the hell". He said, "You wanna trade". Heck yea I'll give you my 10 and a spike to boot. His deer weighed 183 lbs dressed. Beautiful 11 point. Piss on QDMA.          I posted the long spike, killed him on the 10 scrape line 4 days earlier than the ten. The ten weighed 145 dressed. My brother' 11 point weighed 183 dressed.

I seen a bunch over 200 lbs from Dallas/Lowndes counties, one killed around 1985 by a friend of mines dad that weighed 279 or 282 but cant remember which it was. Seen 3 killed in Sardis in 1993 off the same property that were just over 250 lbs, posted a deer on here in 2013 that field dressed 194 lbs and was 6.5 years old. Like Hogwwild said, theyre not rare in some areas. I do beleive a lot of hunters just call a deer 200lbs instead of just saying it was 190 lbs or whatever.
So weird.

I kilt this one several years ago. He was run down from the rigors of the rut by the time I got him but still weighed 195 lbs.  Here's his skull mount........

CNC you only skull mounted that deer. You must have some hoss daddies on the wall. Eh...Not really. I've killed a few decent deer and a lot of average ones. I just got to where I like that skull mounted look better.
