Good looking gun in a great caliber. I always put black scopes on my stainless rifles in case I ever want to switch one to a blued gun.
The black matte finish seems to me to hold up better also than the silver finish.

That's a Purdy gun! I was leaning black scope before the pics loaded up, but that thing would be even sharper with a stainless scope and bases.

I like a silver scope on my stainless rifles. I also like a one piece base. I'm running a black matte scope on my M7 7SAUM to get me through the season. I'll be changing it out as soon as funds allow. Don't let anyone tell you a 50mm won't work, either. Mine is working out great.
Congrats on the purchase. Very nice stock.

Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

Mine came with a black Leupold base and rings. I'll swap it out with silver Leupold rings and bases. I've never had any issues with Leupold rings and bases.

I've only got one stainless gun with a stainless colored scope and after getting some age on the gun, the scope doesn't match the barrel so I think I'd go black matte scope. Anyone want to start an over/under bet on how long it is before this gun's in the classifieds?

Yea I know the silver scopes tend to age quicker but I've bout settled on all silver.I just think it'll look better..As far as it ending up in the classifieds ain't happening. This ones found its forever home..... Well....unless someone wants it real bad........or....if someone posts something for trade I really want then it might leave but I doubt it.

Stainless rings with a stainless Leupy VX3 2.5-8x36 or a stainless Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 (if you can find a nice used one).

My silver Leupold still looks like my stainless M700. I bought them new in the mid 90's. Maybe I haven't owned them long enough to turn?
